Letter from the victim to Fortnums:
I am writing to express my concerns about the way I have been treated by your company over two separate faults with this car. The problems I have had overlap each other with one being extremely Significant and hazardous and the other causing inconvenience but which demonstrated the lack of care by your staff. It appears that unless Mike is approached the standard of customer relations is poor and that you fail to exercise a duty of care to me as required by law.
It is clear that Fortnum’s sold me a car that was in a dangerous state and then when the problem was drawn to your attention failed to be diligent enough to ascertain what the fault was. This left me driving a car that was un-roadworthy. I will address the two problems separately

Absolutely whatever you do steer well clear of this company. Having purchased a Ford Focus from these cowboys last year and having had numerous problems with a) the car and b) the after care/service all I can say is never again.
Do not purchase their warranty it is a pile of sh1t….doesn’t cover you for anything 900 quid for a year, the lock of the bonnet was broken just after I bought it…not covered and now diesel fuel injectors need replacing and guess what not covered. Phone call after phone call speaking to brain dead people has driven me insane. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We brought a car from here back in Feb 2009 and have had nothing but problems from the car and Fortnums!!!! The staff are rude and on a complete hard sell and very convincing!!! We put the car in for a “free” servicing and then 2 weeks later the car completly packed up on us (it was only 2and half years old and a VW)!!! I think the car just sat where it was dropped off and wasn’t even looked at. From all accounts i think they have to sell 20 cars to get a 5 figure bonus!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME EVEN LOOKING AT THE CARS
